Beyond the Field: Corporate Retreats, Weddings & Unforgettable Events at Lazy J

Beyond the Field: Corporate Retreats, Weddings & Unforgettable Events at Lazy J

Lazy J Sporting Club started as a pheasant hunting lodge, and hunting will always be at the core of what we do. But over the past year, we've built out an entirely new area of opportunity: a venue that can host corporate retreats, weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and community gatherings with the same level of care we bring to a guided hunt.

One Location, Everything Handled
Picture this: a group of 15 to 20 people, all staying under one roof, with meeting space, catering, a full bar, and outdoor amenities four steps from where they sleep. That's the model. Our Bull Room (the same space where our production sales happen) doubles as a fully equipped meeting space with AV equipment, projector setup, and room for classroom-style events or catered lunches.

No shuttling between a hotel and a venue. No coordinating outside vendors. Everything from lodging to meals to entertainment happens in one self-contained space, which means your group spends its time actually connecting with each other instead of managing logistics.

And the space scales: we've hosted corporate groups of 20 and weddings of 200+ in the same Bull Room without missing a beat.

Not Just for Him: Rethinking the "Plus One"
One of the biggest shifts this year has been rethinking what a spouse or family member does while the rest of the group is in meetings. Too often, the "plus one" experience at a corporate retreat is an afterthought...dinner and a few drinks at the end of the day.

At Lazy J, that's changed. Our team has built out dedicated programming that includes:

  • Ladies' night with signature cocktails on arrival

  • IV therapy and an in-house masseuse the next morning

  • Charcuterie and wine tasting classes

  • Sporting clays tournaments

  • Paint-and-sip sessions

  • Floral arranging classes

  • Sourdough baking classes

The goal is simple: when a spouse or partner comes along, they're not sitting on the sidelines. They're the focus of their own itinerary, all without ever leaving the property.

A New Cocktail Menu Built for Every Occasion
This season, our leadership team collaborated to build a curated signature cocktail menu, first tested at monthly social events, where it quickly became a guest favorite. Combined with Chef Adam's newly tiered food program (breakfast, lunch, and supper options across multiple menu levels), every event now comes with a food and drink experience that matches the occasion, whether that's a wedding reception, a corporate dinner, or a holiday gathering.

Room to Get Creative
Beyond weddings and corporate retreats, Lazy J has hosted many events, and is actively expanding into more community-driven events: Valentine's Day dinners, seasonal gatherings, and more. We also host the annual ELRSO extreme long-range shooting competition each July, drawing competitive shooters from around the country to take aim at targets up to two miles out. It's the kind of unique, only-here amenity that makes Lazy J a genuinely different option for an offsite or celebration.

With an 18-hole golf course still in development, the vision for Lazy J keeps expanding, but the core idea stays the same: bring people together in one place, take care of every detail, and let them focus on why they came.

Plan Your Event
Whether you're organizing a corporate retreat, a wedding, or a milestone celebration, our team will build an itinerary around your group's needs, down to the smallest details.
